21st April, 2021, Stockholm and London – Arabesque has today announced the appointment of Christine Bergstedt Jørgensen as a new Director for business development in the Nordics, as it continues to expand its services across the region.

Christine joins Arabesque from Cheyne Capital, where she worked across its business development activities, and has previously held senior positions at Aviva Investors and Baring Asset Management. Arabesque’s latest hire follows the recent appointment of Ulrika Hasselgren as its Head of Nordics and Head of Europe for Corporates and Sovereigns, and comes as Arabesque rolls out new services to meet rapidly increasing demand for sustainability and AI technology solutions across global markets.

Speaking on the announcement, Ulrika Hasselgren said: “I am thrilled to welcome Christine to the Arabesque team, with her deep expertise and understanding of the European institutional and distributor market, and extensive knowledge of the ESG investment landscape. Christine brings with her a strong track record of outstanding client service and sales, and she will be an integral member of our Nordics team as we continue our growth across the region.”

In 2006, Christine and Ulrika jointly developed a global emerging equities strategy which was awarded ‘SRI Investment Program of the Year’ at the Funds Europe Awards that year. During her career of nearly 20 years in fund management, Christine was also a founding member of DANSIF, the leading network forum for investors, advisory companies and other stakeholders involved in responsible investment in Denmark.

On joining Arabesque, Christine Bergstedt said: “I could not be more excited to be joining Arabesque’s fast-growing team, and supporting the company’s expansion in the Nordics. Arabesque’s innovative approach and cutting-edge solutions in data and AI investment technology are helping to shape sustainable finance, at a time when demand for future-fit ESG products has never been higher.”

Christine is Vice Chair of the Church Council in the Danish Church in London, and sits on the council for the Anglo-Danish Society with responsibility for fundraising. She holds a BSc and MSc in Economics and Politics from the University of Copenhagen, and is a CFA Charterholder as well as holding the CFA ESG certificate.
